MTV VMA 2020: Conhece os nomeados

A MTV anunciou esta quinta feira, 30 de julho, as nomeações para os MTV VMAs 2020, através da nova ferramenta do Twitter – voice tweets. Devido à pandemia pelo coronavírus, a premiação apresenta este ano duas novas categorias: “Melhor Vídeo Feito em Casa” e “Melhor Performance da Quarentena”. Além disso, regressa a categoria “Melhor Vídeo Alternativo”, ausente há mais de 20 anos.

Lady Gaga e Ariana Grande (que venceu o prémio “Artista do Ano” na edição passada dos prémios) lideram a lista dos mais nomeados, com 9 indicações cada uma. Além disso, ambas partilham a nomeação para “Vídeo do Ano” com “Rain On Me”. Seguem-se The Weeknd e Billie Eilish com seis nomeações cada e Taylor Swift com cinco. Demi Lovato, Dua Lipa, Justin Bieber e Harry Styles estão também entre os nomeados deste ano.

Os VMAs de 2020 acontecem a 30 de agosto e serão transmitidos a partir do Barclays Center, em Nova Iorque. No entanto, a premiação vai contar com performances de vários locais emblemáticos de Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, The Bronx e Staten Island.

Os fãs podem votar em 15 das 21 categorias no site da premiação até ao dia 23 de agosto.
